Perfect bikes for real people.
Nates front and back look badass... especially on those white Pugsleys. I don't think I'd like a singlespeed fat bike. Maybe a 2 speed; a go fast gear and a slow crawlin' gear at the very least. My 2x4 set-up works pretty well for me.
It comes down to use. I want a light weight fattie ss for normal mtb trail riding. As I will have two fully geared fat bikes before the single speed, I have my fat crawling needs covered for winter or summer use.
I love my single speed set up on the Pugsley. The Nates look pretty aggressive. I'm thinking Larry or 45NRTH Husker Du.
Vito I can make the case for all of those tires. For local riding, three weeks every fall and spring the Nates will be just perfect. The Larry's still my go to winter tire. The 45 North's roll noticeably quicker then Larry's on smooth trails, gravel and tar. They will be my go to summer rippers on my Pofahl. All are great tires in their own rights. One of the fun things with all of these is the amount of experimentation that is now possible. Think of how many 26, 29, 700c, and other tires exist. The possibilities with all of these fat bike tires will really allow for mixing and matching, and allow matching tires to specific conditions just like every other bike.
