Mukluks and a Gogo

Just a short one today.  We've got a lot of fun new products coming in over the next few days.  Here's the start!

Salsa Mukluk 3's are in stock in all sizes save XL and are ready to go!  Our 17" and 13" Mukluk demo bikes are also now available for check out and test rides.

We also now have a Gogo LE from Nemo in for stock.  These are super cool, ultra light one person shelter options.  Weighing very little with a crazy small pack size these things kick butt.  The Gogo series utilizes Nemo's AirSupported Technology to eliminate the need for poles while increasing weather resistance and support.  It's a hell of a cool set up for light bike packing or back packing adventures.

So, fun stuff today, more stuff tomorrow and the next.  We're having fun, stop by and check it all out!  Have a great day!

I know about the Mukluk 2's, the black anodized hershey bar finished one but whats a "3"?

Wally, the Mukluk 3 is essentially the same as last year's Mukluk. It is the same color, and has a similar parts spec. The price is also similar at $1600. It is the entry level bike this year.

The Mukluk 2 is the black anno version with red components and an upgraded parts build at $2100.

The Mukluk 1 is a US built Ti frame with an Enabler fork at $2100 as well.

Ok. Thanks. Man, Salsa really confuses. So are they gonna rename the line to reflect this new convention? Fargo 1, 2 and 3's, and so on? I mean Ti Fargo was ok, Ti Vaya was too as was Ti El Mariachi but Ti Mukluk doesn't work? Sure makes me wonder.....

That is correct. The 1, 2, 3, will continue on to other models in the line. IE the Vaya 3 is the entry level bike, Vaya 2 is the nicer complete spec, and the Vaya 1 will be a Titanium complete bike this year.

Yep... I think the 1, 2, 3 thing will ultimately be easy for people to understand, but is a change likely reflective of the fact that Salsa is no longer a tiny little frame maker. It's a full-blown bicycle manufacturer now and it's doing a lot of things right today.

Will you be getting any XL Mukluks in the near future? Riding my GF's XS around the back yard is getting old fast.

Darin,

We are not planning to stock the XL bikes due to lack of past sales of them. That said, they are going to be available in short order if you'd like to order one.

Out of curiosity, how tall are you?

I'm 6'4" with a p.b.h. of 39", so I find generally that I have to go with the largest size available. I actually wish my 62 cm LHT was more like a 68.
