In Memorium

We were sad to hear Thursday of a fatal bike accident that happened Wednesday in Faribault. According to the Faribault Daily News, 12 year old Curtis Holter was trying to cross the street at one of the busier intersections in town and pulled out in front of a truck. Witnesses said that the truck had no chance to swerve or stop. Curtis was not wearing a helmet. Our thoughts go out to his family and friends. Ride safe out there.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Curtis' family and friends. Also in the news here in Cleveland Ohio Sylvia Bingham a 22 yr. old Yale graduate was struck and killed by a tractor trailer truck while riding her bicycle to work on Tues Sept. 15th.Both incedents were such needless tradgidies. We had a local Memorial ride sponsered by the Tremont Ohio Police dept. which provided an escort, and the Ohio City Bicycle Coop which provided rental bikes and HELMETS over 250 people showed up to show support and pay their respects.Maybe you guys should organize something like that for Curtis, it was a touching and healing experience>

I can't say that I know the child well, though he did come in the shop quit a bit. It's a small town here with a pretty close bmx community. I am sure that there will be some sort of memorial though I am not sure what that will be. It's been a rough few weeks here, we had a 16 year old commit suicide two weeks ago as well. A rough way to start the school year for sure. There have been a lot of reasons to hug the ones you love lately.
